ELEVATOR SPEED
Are the results reliable?

Measured Measured
Pressure Acceleration
The measured pressures follow the trend The measured acceleration and
in which pressure decreases with deceleration of the Elevator is very close
increasing altitude and therefore reliable. as expected and is also therefore reliable.

ELEVATOR SPEED
How fast is the Elevator?

According to Dr Garsed (2016) the

average speed of elevators is at around
22 mi/hr or at 9.8 m/s.
The speed of the elevator I use is very slow compared to the
average. Perhaps this is because it is over 15 years old as it
has never been replaced since the building’s conception.
ELEVATOR
How do you improve

SPEED
the experiment?

Presented by: Cres Dan Bangoy Jr.

ELEVATOR SPEED
How fast is the Elevator?
The experiment was done in an elevator
that is actively being used.
If people pressed the button and promped the elevator I
was riding, the elevator would have relcalculated its travel
time, speed etc. to cater the call. These are aspects I cannot
control as the elevator is a public utility. Perhaps if the
elevator was controlled to be for my use only, more
accurate results would have been garnered.
