I, Ritesh Deo would like to apply for the position of a Secondary Mathematics Teacher at your school as advertised in
the Education Gazette on 27th of August, 2020. I have completed my New Zealand teacher registration and have been
awarded a practicing Certificate. The details are as follows: registration number - 377063; expiry date - 22/11/2022.

My teaching career began in 2009 with a Diploma level of qualification (majoring in Mathematics and Basic Science)
which I attained from Fiji College of Advanced Education (currently known as Fiji National University). Later, I upgraded
my qualification to a Bachelor of Education degree majoring in Mathematics from the University of the South Pacific,
Fiji in 2016. My recent qualification is exempted from NZQA and thus is fully recognized by the New Zealand Teaching
Council. I am currently teaching Mathematics and Physics in one of the most prominent schools of Fiji, Natabua High
School. I have been teaching Mathematics at levels 9 – 13 for over ten years. This experience has nurtured a strong
desire to facilitate students in learning strong Mathematical concepts that would help them in subsequent stages of
their careers. In my teaching profession, I have also taught Physics and General Science at levels 9 – 13 and have
attained immense experience in the two subjects.

My experience of working with the various secondary schools in Fiji has given me not only a very good exposure to a
dynamic student focused environment but has also allowed me to understand the cultural diversity inherent in the
education sector. My assets are my interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work on tight schedules.
My ability to create clear and concise learning objectives and the knowledge of using innovative, appropriate and
differentiated instructional methods is the prime reason for my success at my workplace over the years. I have
contributed to extra-curricular activities such as sports like Rugby, Soccer and Athletics. I have also been an active
participant in cultural and community activities, and have coordinated co – curricular activities such as Mathematics
and Physics Team Competitions organized within and outside the school.

Furthermore, I do have computer literacy and am confident to say that I am proficient with Microsoft Office suite
including Word, Excel, and Power Point. In addition to that I have also done a programming unit as an elective course
during my completion of Bachelor’s degree in Basic Database Programming (C++). I am also confident in my ability to
learn any new programs quickly. In conjunction to this, I have experience with teaching in an e-learning teaching
system. Currently, I do use these software skills with my teaching aid in preparing internal exam papers, worksheets
and students result sheet on Ms Excel.

As an enthusiastic and experienced Mathematics and Physics teacher, I am eager to make a substantial contribution
