6) METHOD OR PROCEDURES OF HYDRAULIC PILE JACKING:

6.1) The Procedures of Hydraulic Pile Jacking shall be as below :-

k) When the pile has achieved its bearing capacity or set/depth, the pile head shall be cut at
the existing ground level by means of engine/electric cutter with diamond disc. Cut-off pile
with length exceeding 6m may be re-use for pile setting by inverting and jointing of the pile
head.

.
D
l) Plumb tests in the hollow centre of the spun piles shall be carried out and recorded in the

H
piling record form, on every installed piles immediately after pile termination.

.B
7) SET CRITERIA:

7.1) Pressure Conversion : Refer to the Pressure Conversion Table for the Calculation of

N
Setting Pressure for the Hydraulic Cylinders shall be submit before
commencement of work

7.2)
SD

CK

Pile installation involves jacking and lifting. The potential hazards and the respective
precautions are as follows:
JA

Hazard Precautions
1. Overturning  Ensure ground is reasonably level.
 Ensure equipment is level.
 Use matting is ground is soft.
T

 Do not attempt to track across water ponded

area.
A

2. Pile falling during pitching  Use approved and tested wire ropes.
 Double loop of wire rope around the pile to
RE

avoid slipping (pile surface is smooth).

 Do not drag the pile more than 12m from the
piling leader.
G

 Stay away from pile during dragging and

pitching.
3. Others  Operator should always view at the worker
working at the grip clamp and only grip the pile
where operator is free from clamp.
