LA CLASE Past progressive tense
(CONSOLIDADCION)
The PAST PROGRESSIVE TENSE indicates continuing action, something that was happening,
going on, at some point in the past. This tense is formed with the helping "to be" verb, in the
past tense, plus the present participle of the verb

Subject + were- was + verb-ing + complement

-he was listening to music yesterday at 9 pm.

-The birds were flying over my house
-I was writing a letter to my sister

Negative form
-People weren´t sleeping when the earthquake hit Santiago.
-We weren’t watching TV on Sunday at 11 pm
-She wasn’t driving home last night
 Interrogative form
-Were they wearing blue jackets on Saturday?
-Was he sleeping yesterday at 8 am?
-Was Sophia paying attention in the class?

Answers
- Yes, they were
- No, he wasn´t
- Yes, she was
