VIDEO PROJECT 2: Instructions and Situations

Module 2TA

1. The video must be a natural and original conversationin pairs with a classmate (someone from
the same group)about a topic/situation elected from a list of 12 choices.

2. Reading is not real production;therefore, it is not allowed. You need to practice before recording.

3. Each student will be evaluated individually.

4. The video shouldhavea minimum duration of 2 minutes and a maximum of 3, counted after the
introduction.

5. Itshould be recordedwithany possible toolthatmayworkforboth students and using any software


like Teams, Zoom, Skype, Hangouts, etc.

6. At thebeginning of the video, both studentsmust introduce themselves, show a photo ID (TUDEC
or ID card) and mention the situation/topic they are going to role-play.

7. Both students shouldappearon camera during the whole length of the video. Itcannot be onlyan
audio recording or and edited video with different parts.

8. Thetalking time should be relativelyequalforbothstudents.

9. Both students must demonstrate they have studied vocabulary,grammar,pronunciation,and


language functions fromall the lessons included on the Platform English.udec.cl

10.It is advisable to checktherubric in advance to be sure about whatwill be evaluated.

11.Remember you do not need “true information”,you can be creative but keep in mind that this is
an academic activity. Offensive language or messages are not allowed.

12. The video must be uploaded to Canvas bythe two students. (Deadline: Sunday, August 9 23:59)

13. If you have any questions, doubts or if there is any special situation, you
must contact your tutor.
Situations:

Talk together about your favorite types of movies. Ask and answer questions.
1 Then: Student A:  invite your partner to go to the movies, Student B:  accept the
invitation and together talk about the details. (Where, when, type of movie, etc)
Lesson 10: Leisureactivities

Some friends are coming to visit you for the first time next weekend. Together
plan indoor and outdoor activities for three days, considering the options you

have in the region chosen, weather conditions, your favorite free time activities
and your friends’ personalities. 
Talk together about how different people choose to spend their spare time during
3 lockdown, for example elderly, middle aged people and children in your family, or
your friends and their families.
You are two friends who want to travel together next summer. Talk about possible
4 destinations, the weather in each of them and the type of activities you can do
there. Money is not an issue.
Talk together about the type of music you enjoy, your favorite band or singer and
5 the last time you attended a concert (live or online). Include info about the time,
place, people and feelings.
The pandemic is over and you want to go to your favorite restaurant. Call your
6 friend and talk together about food.  Student A: Invite your partner to go to a

restaurant.  Student B:  Accept the invitation and together talk about the details. 
Student A: You are a food critic and decide to go the best restaurant in town, you
want to order fancy food and drinks to write an article for your Instagram
7 followers. Student B: You are a waiter/waitress at the best restaurant in town.
You know a food critic is coming. Take his/her order and ask questions about the
food he/ she likes/dislikes.
 Tell each other about the last time you went out to a café, restaurant or bar
8 before lockdown. Describe the place you went to, the kind of food and drinks you
ordered and what you liked or disliked about them.

Talk about the most amazing experience you have ever had. talk about the

details and  ask / answer  questions. When, where, feelings, etc. Be creative!

Talk together about the scariest experience you have ever had. Tell where it was

Lesson 12:

(describe the place), who you were with and how you felt.
Talk with your partner about any type of unusual food or drinks you have ever

tried and the most exciting outdoor activity that you have done in your life.
You have both visited a foreign country for more than 3 months. Talk together
about your experience. Include information about the unusual experiences you

had there, the place you’ve been to, the weather, people you met, feelings you
experienced andfood you ate during your stay.
