Food Around the World

Everybody loves a good meal, but people don’t always like the same food. Let’s look at the food different
people eat around the world.
• In Japan, a typical family eats a lot of fish. The Shu family’s favourite types of food are sashimi
(uncooked fish) and fruit. Fish and fruit are very healthy, but the Shus also love cakes and crisps!
• Most families in Italy eat a lot of pasta. They also eat delicious bread, vegetables and fruit. The Rossi
family eats all of these things, but they like hamburgers, too!
• The Ahmed family in Egypt eats many kinds of vegetables and meat. They eat rice and bananas too.
They try to eat healthy food.
• The Henderson family from the USA eats a lot of cereal and eggs for breakfast. They also love beef,
potatoes and salad. Like many American families, they often eat pizza and other fast food and they drink
a lot of fizzy drinks.
