Meshing and naming

Cylinder Mesh:

Cylinder mesh (Interior):

I am guessing that the lines are shown the way they are because I don't know how to cut through
my shape with a perfectly straight line at 90°.

Section view of my fluid domain:

I cannot get the meshing here to be of any other kind. Every time I try to change the method, I get
a meshing error, so for now I have left it as it is. The naming of my surfaces can be seen on the
left side of the images.
Ideally I would like to have a finer and more uniform mesh for the cylinder and for the area behind
the cylinder (all the way to the outlet). Unfortunately, I am a novice at ANSYS and I don't know
how to do it.

I also end up getting a warning like this when I did this meshing:

"The selective body meshing is not being recorded, so the meshing may not be persistent on an
update. If you want to record the order of the body meshing, please use the Mesh Worksheet to
track the meshing steps. Please see Selective Meshing documentation for more details."

I am not sure what this message means.

Below are images of the conditions that I have set up:

The surface labelled 'opening' is the upper surface of the cylinder, where the flow of air and
particles can enter. I am not sure if I should join this face with the fluid domain through surface
meshing. I do not know if it in necessary, or how to do it.

In Fluent, it does seem that there are two interfaces between the fluid domain and the opening of
the cylinder.

Do these require interface meshing so that the flow will go into the cylinder as well?

There are two different cell zones specified as 'fluid'. Will the flow go through both these volumes?

Velocity Profile:
The velocity profile I get is not depicted very nicely because the profile against the walls is also
shown. I only want to see the flow of air and dust particles, and how they interact with the cylinder.
The rest of it is not important.
