EXPERIENCE

August This was my father’s business and I actually spent most of my school holidays
2014 throughout my high school years working here. While working here I have
learned how to time manage and operate and office and also to learn to
deliver print orders on time as well as manage the logistics of an event. It is
also here that I learnt how to put on a customer service first attitude and
policy when running an office which functions as a service provider.

2018- May I was assigned for my internship to the Sexual and Gender Based Violence
2018 department, where I was tasked to conduct a research on Country of Origin
information on Myanmar and Sexual and Gender Based Violence among LGBT
in Malaysia from a legal perspective. I have also coordinated a fact-finding
mission with another body of the UN and have learned how to communicate
in an NGO setting internally and externally as well. I have also been tasked to
provide basic legal counseling to Persons of Concern who approach the
UNHCR with their problems regarding Sexual and Gender Based Violence. In
this office, I have also learned administration skills and how important
communication is when running a multi-department organization.

June 2018- Project Executive (Communications), World Vision Malaysia


July 2019 For my first job I was assigned to the Communications Department of World
Vision Malaysia, where I was tasked to control the work flow and work traffic
as well as ensuring the quality of materials produced by the creative team. I
have coordinated projects for two portfolios and they are Donor Relations
and Resource Development Marketing. I was also involved in coordinating the
social media posts made by the digital team. In this role I have learned the
importance of managing projects. I also recognize the importance of
protecting a brand identity of an organization. In addition, I have also learnt
how to assign work based on the talents of the individuals in the creative
team and how to best maximize the strength of each individual’s creativity.
In addition to the responsibilities assigned to me within the Communications
Department, I am also tasked to set up and participate in World Vision’s
roadshows and these are usually held in malls around Malaysia in the effort to
encourage the public to support the cause of World Vision.

October At Digital Symphony I was tasked to plan content, as well as write content for
2019 2 social media accounts, X-1R Asia and Seventeen Mall. I am also responsible
for creating reports for Digital Marketing campaigns, which involves the usage
of Google Analytics and Facebook Business Manager. I have also learnt to set

up campaigns on Google AdWords which involves GDN and Search Engine
Marketing and Facebook Advertisements for engagement campaigns.

2019- At Applecrumby & Fish I was tasked to service the digital portfolio of the
Present brand. This portfolio involved the management of their social media accounts
(Facebook, Instagram and blog). Within the portfolio I also serve as the social
media copywriter, writing social media caption as well as sales copy. In
addition, I was tasked to set up Facebook Advertising campaigns and to keep
track of our online campaigns.
I was also tasked to handle trade orders from the confinement centres we
service, handling the preparation from order to delivery. I was also tasked to
service our social media influencer base to better market the company’s
products.

I presented my undergrad thesis proposal titled, “The Intercultural
Communication Competence of Vernacular School Leavers in Institutions of
Higher Learning in Malaysia”. One of the lecturers who attended my
presentation was impressed by the presentation and verbally offered me a
place to do a Masters Degree at the university that she is working with.

When I was in upper secondary, I legitimized and established this new sport
club with the help of my managing body. The club is still going strong now
and is still growing to this day even after I have left.
