WORKING EXPERIENCE
Key Responsibility
Propose student intake targets in consultation with the Faculty Manager, Student Affairs and Planning
Office, through meetings scheduled as part of the Faculty Planning process;
Work with the Faculty Manager and Student Affairs Office on changes to intake targets throughout
the year;

Identify workplace problems and make decisions based on quantitative techniques;
Prepare the departmental reflective statement as part of the annual faculty planning process
Attend and support arrangements for the annual Faculty Away Day;
Oversee the delivery of the departmental elements of the Faculty Plan;
Responsible for the Department’s space allocation and infrastructure requirements, ensuring both
short-term and longer-term requirements are adequately planned for;
Responsible for the Department’s financial performance and oversee departmental financial controls;
Engage in long-term planning for the future direction of the department
Key Responsibility
Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders and young people from the 4 LGA s covered by
this project to
Identify and prioritize current issues and needs, services and assets that faces Somali youth;
Work with the Benadir region youth to build a collaborative, coordinated approach to planning
and service delivery across the region that takes into consideration the specific needs of minority
groups, transitional needs of 9-12 year olds and other barriers to youth engagement;
Work with the youth to collaboratively build the capacity of youth workers and youth services
across the region;
Develop a communication strategy in collaboration with youth and young people to improve
effective promotion to young people, parents and the wider community including appropriate,
effective use of social media tools;
Develop an evaluation strategy for the implementation stage of project that measures the
effectiveness of a collaborative approach;
Develop an appropriate exit strategy to ensure sustainability of the collaborative models beyond
the life of the project.
Plan and facilitate group programs, projects and events for and with young people;
Deliver one to one opportunity for young people which focus on their learning and development;
To develop and facilitate educational group work for and with young people;
To support volunteers and seasonal staff to undertake activities;
Record and evaluate the work using the appropriate methods and contribute to funding
applications and reports;
Raise the profile of university and work in the area by linking into networks and forums;
Support local outreach programs and educational group work in mainstream youth settings;
Attend team meetings, supervision and other meetings as required;
Carry out such other duties as agreed with the organization;
Submit timesheets and comply with such other administrative arrangements as required.
