SECTION A
Questions for 1 mark each:
a. Evaluate: Sin260o + 2 tan45o – cos230o

b. If Sin A = ¾, Calculate Sec A.

c. What is the value of (cos267o – sin223o)?

d. A ladder, leaning against a wall, makes an angle of 60 o with the horizontal. If the foot of ladder is

2.5m away from the wall, find the length of the ladder.

e. The value of [sin2θ + 1 / (1+tan2θ)] = ________.

f. The value of (1 + tan2θ) (1-sin2θ) (1+sinθ) = _______.

g. Cos80o/sin10o + cos59ocosec31o = _______.

h. State true or false:

a) The value of sinθ increases as θ increases.

b) sin(A+B) = sinA + sinB.

c) The value of tanA is always less than 1.

d) Sin θ = 4/3 for some angle θ.

i. In ΔPQR, right-angled at Q, PR + QR = 25cm and PQ = 5cm. Determine the values of sinP, cosP and

tanP.
SECTION B
Questions for 2 marks each:

a. If tan A=4/3, then find value of (sinA + cosA) / (sinA – cosA).

b. In ∆ ABC, right-angled at B, AB = 24 cm, BC = 7 cm.

Determine:

(i) sin A, cos A

(ii) sin C, cos C

c. If A, B and C are interior angles of a triangle ABC, then show that sin [(B + C)/2] = cos A/2.

d. If tan 2A = cot (A – 18°), where 2A is an acute angle, find the value of A.

e. If tan (A + B) =√3 and tan (A – B) =1/√3, 0° < A + B ≤ 90°; A > B, find A and B.

f. If ∠A and ∠B are acute angles such that cos A = cos B, then show that ∠ A = ∠ B.

g. Prove the identity: (1 + tan2A/1 + cot2A) = (1 – tan A/1 – cot A)2 = tan2A

h. Given 15 cotA = 8, find the values of other trigonometric ratios.

i. If cotB = 7/8, evaluate (1+sinB) (1-sinB) / (1+cosB) (1-cosB)

j. Draw the table of the trigonometric ratios of 0o, 30o,45o, 60o and 90o.
