Summary about Describing Things.

In describing things, we use the linking verb ‘be’ because it links the subject to a
description. Things can be described in the following ways: size; weight; shape; color; materials;
flavors; appearance; also age.
In singular we use the verb ‘is’, but in third person singular we use the verb ‘has’. In the
plural, we use the verb ‘are’, but in third person plural we use the verb ‘have’.
There is some other way to describe things too:
1. It’s kind of… /a type of
2. It looks like ( when it comes to the first and second person singular it becomes ‘look'.
But, when it comes to the third person singular it becomes ‘looks’ )
3. It is made of ( to identify ) and it is made from ( to describe the ingredients)
Utility and Function
For describe the function of something, we use ‘it is used for' / ‘it can/could be used
for’
Ex: for cleaning // to clean

 I have one N95 mask. This mask is white with blue straps. This mask looks like a bowl.
This mask is made of paper. Also, this mask can only be used once. This mask is kind of
presses the face. and this mask is not recommended for the general public.
 I have one permanent marker. This marker is black with a yellow cover. This marker is
not too big. This marker is very light. This marker also has a strong odor. This marker
cover has red, green, and blue colors. And this marker has a black cap.

This pouch is made of shiny material. And this pouch has a zipper. This pouch looks so
