General Concept of Management
Management is an art. If we want to explain management in one word – “Management is to get things
done by other”. This is from the supervisor level to the Managing Director of an organization.

Management requires manpower to set right person in the right place, money to finance and maintain
cash flow and machine with standard operating procedure.

There are three ways of practicing management-

1. Autocratic Management

2. Participating Management

3. Laissez Fair

History of Management
Robert Wen from Britain thought about management system development. He was thinking for the
betterment of employees life to improve the productivity.

Another British person Charles Babbage also thought to improve the livening standard of worker. He
also thought about the skill development and introduced the specialization concept department wise.

Fredric Tailor thought little different. He followed Charles Babbage but add streamline like IE activities
balancing, machine placement.

Area of Management
Management covers human resource, financing, production, marketing, sales and over all operational
management.

Function: Success of an organization is wholly depending on its management. Therefore a


management team should have four basic function. Planning of the organization’s goal and the road
map, organizing the resources, leading the subordinate to implementation of plan and control to remain
on the track of the plan.
Managerial Success
Managerial Success means the recognition of a person for being responsible of a job. Success can be
define by the superior or by organization. There are factors that influences a manager’s success
including individual’s such as attitude, ability and motivation according to the job nature. On the other
hand, cooperation from the employee, evaluation by the superior and off course luck matter for success
of a manager.

Activity of a General Manager


A general manager is a generalist. He is responsible for all. So, he has to give decision all required issues.
General Manager need to keep all update information through MIS or ERP and held schedule meting for
follow up, proceeding the plan and forecast of upcoming issues.

MIS: Management information system is important for decision making. MIS need to store data,
retrieving and processing data to give planning and forecasting.

Quality of A Good Manager


A good manager should have the quality of credit maker, rather than credit taker. He should be polite
and treat all as same special. He can motivate subordinate by giving surprise bonus

Above all, for being a good manager one should learn to speak and write in plain language.

Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is an individual who creates new organization and continue to manage it until it is
successful. It is important for a countries economics because its create new job, start a new business
sector and contribute for the development of nations.

There are several types of entrepreneurship such as- solo entrepreneur, Product innovator, workforce
generator, Pattern multiplier, capital aggregators and so on.

The success of an entrepreneur depend most like a managerial success but business scope, finance and
government policy is included.
