1 LUBRICATION

Grease Daily at “A” when in use.

Grease Sheave Bearings Weekly when in use at “B”. (Note 1 Fitting for each Sheave
Bearing. Do Not Over-grease).

Grease Spring Housing at “C” once every month.

Brush Grease Daily when in use at “D”.

Lubricate Link for Ear Bolts “E” weekly.

Recommended Lubricants

Sheave Bearings, Brush Grease: Use an Extreme Pressure Multipurpose Grease of No. 1
or No. 2 consistency.

Spring Housing: Use a Multipurpose Automotive Grease or an Extreme Pressure

Multipurpose Grease of No. 1 consistency.

2 OPERATIONAL MAINTENANCE

1. Clean and Inspect for Wear and Cracks on Each Link Ear every month. Contact
National Oilwell Varco for Maximum Wear Allowance.
2. Remove Hook Stem Pin and check for Wear and Cracks in Pin, Hook and Hook
Stem every 6 months. Brush Coat Pin with Grease upon reassembly.
3. Check entire area of Block Assembly for Wear, Cracks or Metal Deformation every
month.

NOTE: DURING STORAGE OR OPERATION PROTECT BLOCK FROM CORROSION

BY SUFFICIENT LUBRICATION AT ALL POINTS NOTED ABOVE. REMOVE ANY
EXISTING RUST AND PROTECT AS NECESSARY.

3 OPERATING PRACTICE

At the first sign of Excessive Wear or Cracks on any portion of Hook or Body Assembly,
use of Block must be discontinued until approved repair or replacement has been made.
