COURSE SYLLABUS
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course examines the tourism and hospitality industry operation within a comprehensive domestic & international, legal and regulatory
framework. This course covers the principles of law applicable to hospitality, tourism and related industries. Various legislation on organization and
several international law issues such as consumer protection, product and service liability, employment and law access to the natural environment.
By the end of their four-year stay at DMCCFI, the students should be able to:
1. Manifest academic excellence through their globally-competitive skills and desirable work ethics.
2. Demonstrate excellence as active partners in nation-building through research and innovation.
3. Exemplify the qualities of a graduate who achieves holistic integral human development.
4. Apply their acquired technology-based skills to their chosen field of practice.
5. Exhibit leadership by developing socially-oriented programs for communities to promote social justice, equity and transformation leading to self-
reliance.
6. Advocate nationalism through athletics, culture and the arts.
7. Embody Catholic education that fosters inclusivity for the total formation of a person.
By the end of their 4-year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, the students can:
1. Identify core problems and create sound decisions through exercising critical thinking and careful consideration of institutional objectives.
2. Students can ingeniously carry on tasks with the evident capacity to lead and work well in a team.
3. Efficiency performs the methodologies of the competencies that are required in the service industry.
4. To be able to deal with the changing trends in technology utilized in the operations.
5. Students demonstrate well the practice of the procedures learned in any level of competency, with great amount of consideration o safety, hazard
analysis, sanitation and professional ethics towards colleagues, customers and the general public.
6. Manifest compassion towards serving the community through developing the youth by imparting experiences, knowledge and skills they acquired.
At the end of the course, the students will be able to appreciate the integral role of technology in to help the business progress – small to medium sized
organizations. The student is obliged to make a Business Plan with an organization of their choice related to hospitality industry.

COURSE POLICIES
A. You are allowed seven (3) and eleven (9) hours of absences, inclusive of tardiness, for classes that meet twice and thrice a week, respectively. All
absences after this shall mean excessive absences, which is equivalent to a grade of 5.
B. Assignments must be submitted before the class begins; unless otherwise directed.
C. Special and make-up written outputs (long quizzes, assignments) shall only be given if you have justifiable reason/s for falling to submit them.
D. Special major exams shall be given one week after the administration of the regular major examination.
E. The use of cellular phone is prohibited during class hours, unless a special permission to use it is granted. In addition, the use of any electronic
gadget is prohibited unless otherwise relevant to the class lesson/discussion.
F. You are encouraged to discuss your class-related concerns with your subject-teacher
