• Miss Miller designed a center that use for listening, reading, writing and creating in the
classroom.
• For the center, the students will work on variety of projects individually, in pairs and in
groups.
• For the center, Miss Miller had prepared a poster with a schedule. Usually she will remind
her students before posting it on the bulletin board.
• When the center became available, Miss Miller presented it to the class and demonstrating
it.
• She would point out two signs in each center. One sign is the procedures for the center and
the second sign is the capacity of that center.
• For example, the listening center has four capacities. In the center, Miss
Miller explained that students can sign up the centers when they arrive at
school.
• One period of the day, there will be a period called a “free time” where
the students can go to the centers they have chosen.
• Another period is “assigned center time” where Miss Miller decides who
should be in each center.
• For each center, Miss Miller usually brings up any common problem she
sees at the centers during rug time.
