How are you? We hope and pray that you are in good health.

The DFCAMCLP remains steadfast and committed to provide flexible but accessible
learning modalities for Academic Year 2020-2021, hence we conceived the DFCAMCLP
Flexible Learning Options (FLOs) that will benefit different types of learners.

One of our modalities is the Distance Learning. This learning delivery modality occurs
between the faculty and the learners who are physically remote from each other during the
class session. Under this learning delivery modality, the school offers two learning delivery
types such as Modular Distance Learning (MDL) and the Online Distance Learning (ODL).

Let us distinguish the difference between the two. The Modular Distance Learning
uses individual instruction that allows learners to use self-learning modules or course packs
in printed copies; the said modules developed by the faculty members of the College are
contextualized to fit the needs of the learners. On the other hand, the Online Distance
Learning features the teacher as facilitator and requires online and offline engagements, and
active participation of learners through the Kneura Learning Management System. The
Kneura LMS is a virtual classroom platform that provides powerful tools for educators to
create and deliver lessons (synchronous or live) and engage learners to achieve
extraordinary outcomes. The online distance learning gives the students a way to attend in
different class sessions. The sessions are synchronous and asynchronous. Under the
synchronous session, learners must attend the live or the online class as per schedule, while
in the asynchronous session, students are in the self-pace/self-directive activities and
scheduled faculty consultation.

Furthermore, once vaccine is available and the government through IATF would allow
face-to-face learning and teaching, the DFCAMCLP will shift include another learning
modality which is the blended learning. This learning delivery combines face-to-face and
online distance learning, face-to-face and modular distance learning, and matching of two or
more types of modalities.

For this semester, the DFCAMCLP will utilize modular and online distance learning
modalities. Much as we want to encourage you to choose Online Distance Learning modality,
we also consider situation. If you think there is really a need to change learning modality due
to personal pressing issues and concerns, please refer to student’s guide for your guidance.
