RD Series Wireline-Retrievable Dummy Valves

Weatherford’s McMurry-Macco® RD series wireline-retrievable isolation

valves that are installed in a side-pocket mandrel to block the mandrel’s
injection ports. The dummy valve, with an appropriate latch, may be
installed or retrieved in the well completion for various well servicing
operations.

Applications
• Sealing off the pocket of side-pocket mandrel, preventing
communication between casing and tubing
• Blanking off the tubing for production until gas-lift valves are required
• Pressurizing the tubing
• Isolating tubing and casing flow during single-alternative production and
for test purposes during multi-point water- or gas-injection floods

Features
• Stainless steel, MONEL® or other special alloy materials available
• Integral bottom collet latch available (model RD-1BL)
• Special packing seals available for most requirements

• Two sets of packing to straddle and pack off casing ports
• Accepts most common top latches
