Comparative and Superlative
Comparative adjectives are used to compare two people or things.
Superlative adjectives are used to compare a person or thing with a number of
other people or things
Examples:
1. strong – stronger – the strongest

Activity 7
Work in different pairs. What kind of pain do you think the conditions below
might cause? Discuss the location and the severity of the pain. Compare your
ideas with another pair.
1. Appendicitis
caused by an abnormal immune system response called autoimmune.
Appendix complaints are usually felt pain like being stabbed by a sharp
object in the lower abdomen. besides that there is a feeling of bloating and
diarrhea
2. Severe migraine
When a migraine appears, the sufferer will feel a headache that gets worse
with exposure to light or loud sounds and often experiences nausea.
Patients often complain the position of the pain is always on the right
almost on the back of the head (near the ear). Causes of migraine include
hormonal factors, genetic factors, changes in chemicals in the brain and
brain blood vessels
3. Labor
Diagnostics and specimens are tests that are absolutely necessary to
establish a diagnosis of a client or patient's disease.

4. Broken shoulder
Patients often complain of intense pain such as being stabbed by sharp
objects and the shoulder is difficult to move.
This condition can be caused by:
Sports injuries: changes in shoulder position are common in contact sports,
such as football and hockey, and in sports where falls can occur, such as
skiing, gymnastics and volleyball.
Trauma not related to sports: hard impact to the shoulder during motor
vehicle accidents is a common cause of dislocation.
Fall: a change in shoulder position can occur as a result of a fall, such as
from a ladder or a slip.
5. Kidney stones
Patients often complain of pain such as sharp objects in the lower left
abdomen and pain when urinating.
Causes of Kidney Stones can be triggered by various conditions, such as
not drinking enough water, excess body weight, or the side effects of
surgery on the digestive organs. Stone deposits in the kidneys can be
caused by food or other underlying health problems. Based on the type,
kidney stones are divided into four, namely calcium stones, uric acid
stones, struvite stones, and cystine stones.
6. Tonsillitis
Patients usually complain that there is pain when swallowing, sometimes
also feel fever and sore throat. Causes of tonsillitis such as bacterial
infection, viral infection, biofilm, genetics

The patient named Tn.A, 59 years old, lives on Jl. Buntu no 4 Surabaya, was
admitted to the hospital complaining of shortness of breath for 3 days ago
productive cough and phlegm was hard to come out every night, the chest was
like being pressed by a heavy object requiring a long breath to make a wheezing
sound, it was difficult to eat, the patient was weak and for 3 days ate only half of
the usual portion if forced to eat a lot will vomit. The patient is limp, pale, looks
dry lip mucosa. Mr. A only took oral medication from a pharmacy.
