Municipality Vaccine Plan Implementation
Protecting Health Through Immunization

SITUATION ANALYSIS
Every barangay of the Municipality needs to be awakened that they are being infected by the
diseases that used to be common in this country and around the world, including polio, measles,
dengue, mumps and many more.
There are many children that are unvaccinated and probably, they are exposed to a disease germ
and their body may not be strong enough to fight the disease that can cause their early death.
COMMUNITY PLANNING
“It is always better to prevent a disease than to treat it after it occurs.”
1. Establish outreach services in all barangay. A large proportion of the population can only have
access to immunization services through outreach, therefore regular outreach should be
incorporated in all session plans.
For some communities, access can only be provided infrequently by mobile teams and may need
additional resources. Outreach and mobile team sessions are opportunities to provide other
interventions with immunization to people who have difficulty reaching health centers.
2. There must be a supportive supervision that will provide on-site training to health workers at
the time of supervisory visits, or at regular meetings. To be supportive, supervisors should make
regular visits, help to solve problems locally and follow up regularly with supply and resource
issues. Supervisors will themselves need training to adapt their own approaches to supervision.
3. Linking services with communities. Making regular contact, or holding regular meetings with
the community can help to identify convenient times and places for sessions and roles for
community volunteers.
4. There is a responsibility to ensure that the needed financial and human resources are available
to every barangay and managed correctly.

IMPLEMENTATION
Start of the immunization clinic to direct the set-up process for every barangay (immunization
stations, registration, signage, post-immunization monitoring area, adverse reaction emergency
station). Nurses will be sent to vaccinate children under the age of 18 years. There must be
monitoring to ensure stations have adequate supplies, answered questions from volunteers and the
health department, and directed volunteers to areas.
