Project: Plan a trip

You will have six days to plan an extensive trip to a Spanish speaking city/country. You must determine who is
going, where you will be staying, your budget for the trip, and a detailed plan for every day (restaurants,
tourist activities, etc).

Strategies: You may use your notes from class, video worksheet information, the travel guide books in class,
the internet, and other resources you can find. You must have a reference list with full citation of all sources
used. We will go to the computer lab at least one full day. You must turn in your references, a rough draft,
and your rubric (each will count 4 points towards your final grade).

Timeline:

Primer día ____________: PLANNING TIME


You should decide on your city/country you wish to plan a trip to. You should also decide what sites you think
you want to visit, based on what you've seen in class or other information you may know. Then get started !
Segundo día ___________: RESEARCH
Take notes from travel books, articles, etc. Begin planning out restaurants and tourist attractions that you will
visit each day. A price should be included for every activity you participate in (including lodging). Make a list
of the places you plan to visit each day. You need to find information about each of the sites you plan to visit,
including its location, and what you will see there. You need to visit a total of at least five places. At the end
of the period tomorrow, you should have all the basic information you need. A reference list should be
organized and a copy turned in to me as evidence of the work you've done at this stage.
Tercer día ___________: RESEARCH
Continue researching. (See Segundo día). A reference list should be organized and a copy turned in to me as
evidence of the work you've done at this stage.
Cuarto día ___________: WRITING & MAPS
Begin writing a blog/bio for each day of your trip in past tense. You must write at least a paragraph about
each place, explaining what the blogger experienced and why they visited there. You must include a map of
all places visited. Mark your plans for each day on the city map with a different color highlighter for each day
(lunes, martes, miércoles, etc.) Don’t forget to make a key.
Quinto día ___________: WRITING & BUDGET (ROUGH DRAFT is DUE)
Your budget should include lunch and dinner as well as the entrance fees, subway tickets, souvenirs, and
spending money you think you will need. List everything in dollar and the currency of your country. For
lunches, plan anywhere from 7 to 15 dollars and for dinners from 15 to 100 dollars, depending on how well
you plan to eat. Your ROUGH DRAFT is DUE to me at the end of class today.
Sexto día ___________: FINAL DRAFT
You should have a slide/picture for each of the major sites you visit. You may organize your presentation on a
poster board or into a power point. The following information must be included: a section/slide with a picture
for each day of your trip, a blog in past tense for each day, a map of all places visited (each day highlighted in a
different color), and a detailed budget totaled in dollars and currency of the country.
Séptima día ___________: PRESENTATION
You must present an outline/overview of your trip in Spanish. Two of your favorite blogs must be included.
You should be ready to answer any questions about your presentation, including why you chose the sites on
your visit.
