Bleed supply & Surge Protection: The load compressor is a
centrifugal compressor which supply the bleed air required
for aircraft pneumatic system.
For Training Purposes Only

In case if the load compressor surge occurs it shall result in

compression inefficiency and vibrations with high rise in EGT
as well. This critical aspect is taken care by load compressor
surge protection system in APU.

PMG is not present.

APIC APS 3200:

PMG is attached to the accessory
gear section to the cooling fan drive.
which provides emergency power
supply to ECB and also provides
backup speed signal to ECB.

DEOILING SOLENOID VALVE:
Especially during the cold start condition; the oil has a high viscosity.
The de-oiling solenoid valve reduces the oil pressure pump load at
any APU start by allowing air to enter the inlet of the oil supply pump. During
the APU shutdown, the de-oiling solenoid valve prevents the
coking of the oil remaining in the bearing chambers.
