Dear Principal, 

My name is Nancy Gutierrez and my goal is to be an elementary special 

education teacher in a fundamental living skills classroom. I have a passion for 
working with special ed students and I believe working with them is my calling 
in life. I have the ability to work well with others and work extremely well under 
pressure. I will collaborate with other teachers as well as my team of aides to 
help my students succeed. I am driven to help these students learn not just 
content but living skills as well. Where they can grow up and be independent. I 
want to pass on my growth mindset and positive energy to my coworkers and 
students.  

I was a substitute teacher for 3 years and I mostly picked up jobs in special 
education classrooms, I gained experience on how to use the Assistive 
Communication devices, I worked one on one with students, I helped them 
feed themselves and I learned many other skills. Also, I gained a lot of 
experience in different Special education units while doing observation hours. 
My number one choice is FLS but I am open to other units.  

I hope to one day have the chance to work for your wonderful school. Thank
