INTRODUCTION
Seedling growth covers the period in the life cycle of green plants from emergence of radicle
through the seed coat until the appearance of enough green leaves to make the plant independent of
stored energy.
In this module, you will be able to learn the land preparation activities, apply beneficial micro-
organisms, transplanting, water recommendation.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of this module, you should be able to:

2. Apply beneficial micro-organisms
3. Demonstrate transplanting procedures
4. Perform water management

KEY CONCEPTS

Land Preparation- is a very important practice to enhance good yield from crops grown. It is one of the
measures used to control crop diseases and pest invasion.

Beneficial micro-organisms- are naturally occurring bacteria, fungi, and other microbes that play a
crucial role in plant productivity and health.

Transplanting- is the process of moving a fully germinated seedling (or mature plant) in a permanent
location for the growing season.

Water- is a universal solvent.
