REFLECTION PAPER

How do you understand "Starting up: An Entrepreneurial Journey"?

As a college student studying Architecture, it is a great opportunity for me to be enrolled in this course.
General Education Elective 3 (GEE003) is a subject that is all about entrepreneurship and other topics
related to that word. One particular concept integrated in this course is about starting up a new venture.
As an architecture student, it is an essential part of us to learn how to manage businesses and clients
because it will help us to become successful individuals in our profession. Most especially if we build our
own architectural firms in the future.

This particular topic in GEE003 incorporates discussions about different ways to start a business and
what one can encounter in this entrepreneurial journey. It discusses things that are alike in this matter,
how to deal with failures, how to celebrate successes, the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and
threats that a business can come across to. Moreover, it teaches students or future entrepreneurs how
to identify different opportunities in the environment where we can collect or ignite some new ideas
which can be the start of our own ventures. It also talks about theories and ideas about in what way the
role of creative thinking and the phases of nature of creative process can greatly help starting
entrepreneurs. It also clarifies certain misconceptions about innovations in which, if entrepreneurs are
unknowledgeable about, might be a great hindrance in a venture.

Furthermore, if one aspires to be a successful entrepreneur, they will encounter a lot of opportunities
coming their way. But not all these chances can be a good thing for a business. If not assessed properly,
this may be the cause or the root for deposition of a venture. this topic in this course particularly talks
the critical mistakes that new ventures have and how they can avoid them. Also, it talks about the
factors on how ventures out can be developed in order to be successful and productive.

All things considered, my understanding of the topic — "Starting up: An Entrepreneurial Journey" would
be that— it enlightens students or future entrepreneurs about how to appropriately start businesses if
they plan on incorporating a new one in the industry. It tackles important key points, do’s and don’ts,
pros and cons, and new ideas for their intended ventures. Learning about this certain topic would be a
great advantage for those individuals in the future.
