INTRODUCTION:

FINDROME – The Finance Department Cell of NMIMS’s Mukesh Patel School of

Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME) is a students’ body which
organizes events and activities such as workshops, guest lecturers from industry experts,
business quizzes, virtual stock market, management simulation games, case study
competition, panel discussions, etc. in financial domain around the year. Such events and
activities keep students abreast with latest happenings in corporate and financial world.

FinDrome was launched in the academic session of 2008-09 by two students of the Class
of 2010 MBA (Tech.), Shahid Hussain and Anushree Goyal under guidance of Mr. P K

Garg, the then Dean – Technology Management and Prof. Supriyo Ghatak. Dr. Anuja
Agarwal, Associate Dean, NMIMS and the eminent faculty members of MBA (Tech)
Finance have been looking after the reigns of FinDrome for over 6 years and under their
austere guidance, it has flourished as a financial body. Prof. Geetha Iyer, Prof. Alaknanda
Lonare and Dr. Abhay Kumar who are the ace professors of MBA-Tech have been
associated with FinDrome right from its inception phase.

Endeavoring to achieve our prime goal of bringing all the updates from the
financial domain at the disposal of the students, thus armoring them in building
the quintessential financial intellect, we’ve only been growing stronger and shall
strive to achieve par excellence.

FinGo:
FinDrome is proud to present its first venture of the academic year 2020-21, Fin-Go, - the
bingo with a financial twist. An attempt to bring out the fun in finance via the evergreen
medium of bingo. Participants would be divided into rooms of 30, where each of them
would be allotted a unique checkbox where they would be marking their respective
responses. But instead of calling out numbers as in a normal bingo, the number will be
encoded in the form of questions being streamed by the host which would be based upon
basics and current affairs on finance. Participants will have 30-45 seconds to figure out the
solution which would be a number between 1-30 and proceed to check it off.

FinDrome's previous trademark events like the renowned Treasure Hunt have
Experienced a footfall of about 400-500 students on avg from colleges across the city and
we expect this number to grow drastically as we move to an online platform with a
competition which offers assured prizes to all the participants.

Panel Discussion

This is the flagship event of FinDrome. Every year, this monumental conclave witness’s
intelligentsia and distinguished personalities from the industry gather to share their views
on the theme and to enlighten the audience with their superb expertise in corporate
affairs.

Previous year the topic for the PD was " Digital Currencies- Future, Forward". The Chief
Guest for the event was Mr. G Padmanabhan, (Ex-Executive Director of RBI and
ExChairman of The Bank of India). The Guest of Honor for the event was Dr. Paritosh Basu
(Chairperson MBA Law, School of Business Management, NMIMS). Our Panelists were Mr.
Hirdesh Rohatgi (Director of Global Markets, Barclays), Mr. V. Muralitharan (Ex-CEO of SBI
CAP Trustee Company Limited), Mr. Varun Shivhare (Assistant General Manager Legal
Affairs Department, SEBI).

The Panel Discussions held previously witnessed overwhelming responses of about 250+
attendees.
Mutual Funds Seminar

The event was headed by Dr. Aditya Srinivas, working as a Chief Operations Officer in BSE
Broker’s Forum. The event was an informative lecture meant to introduce the idea of
mutual funds and their advantages to the students. The hallmark of the event was live and
active interaction between the speaker and the audience.
GST Seminar

With a crowd of 1100 plus MBA tech students, this event was a huge success in itself. The
event was headed by Mr. Niladri Biswas, presently associated with Emerson Network
Power (India) Private Limited now known as Vertiv Energy Private Limited as Sr. Director,
Indirect Tax. The event was in the context of the recent introduction of GST and its
implications in India. The hallmark of the event was live and active interaction between
speaker and the audience.
ICICI Stockmind

FinDrome, in association with ICICI Direct has been organizing ICICI Stockmind, a virtual
trading platform for enthusiastic budding stockbrokers all over the country. Participants
had to play during hours that like actual trading hours, with virtual money. Every
contestant was given a certificate of participation and winners were given exciting prizes.

BSE Visit

A visit is arranged by us to the Dalal Street, Mumbai, to the BSE. Students participate in
huge amount because the indeed interesting. The students get to interact with various
experienced brokers and are guided on the proceedings of the stock market.
Treasure Hunt

Treasure hunt marks as our first event if the academic year. It is a fun event wherein
the participants cover various places of the city to discover their treasure. The crowd
we expect are the college students from Mithibai, DJ Sanghvi, MPSTME and SBMP,
with over 300 in number. The students participate in teams of 3-4 and are given clues
to various checkpoints which are popular food joints in Juhu. These, in turn, contains

clues to other checkpoints leading up to the destination. The winners and runners-up
are gifted with vouchers and free memberships.

The TREASURE HUNT 2019 received tremendous response from 384 participants. The
treasure hunt is originally organized by us, FinDrome, the Finance Cell of NMIMS, and
has been a great success over years.
MPSTME’s Las Vegas

A fun event based on the theme of financial risk management, a casino simulation which
gave participants a casual experience with regards to handling finances, this occasion got
tremendous footfall attributable to the creative thought of instilling budgetary
information through interest.
