SANDRA STORES

Prasad is a thirty-year-old person who is the proprietor of Sandra stores &

Sandra Electronics. A Sandra store was started in 1997 immediately after his high
school education. This shop is along with his home & the investment is given by his
family.
His family consist mother, brother and wife and a kid .While doing this business he
also studied the servicing of Electronic equipments from Siyon in Erattupetta.
When he started the store that was the only stationery store in Narakakuzhy. Now
total of four stationery stores in that locality. Credit sales are also available here.
Every two months he purchased goods to his stores by Jeep. The store is opened at 7
am and closed 9 am, in case of evening the store will open at 4 pm and closed at 7.30
pm. The reason is in that place so many peoples are working in tea estate. So in
between the time there is not at all sales in the product. He collected tea leaves from
the nearby tea estate and he sold this bulk quantity to the MASCO. The payment is
through by cheque in Malanadu Service Bank. Because of the competition from
three other stores profit of this store has come down after his marriage he was not
able to meet his daily necessities.
So he decided to do something and he joined Rashi Electronics in Elappara. There
he worked for 1 year. But he was not able to come back to home on time after the
days work. So he decided to start a new shop at Vagamon with his friend Shaba on
partnership basis. Shibu is his colleague in Elappara shop & he worked for 3 years
in this shop. They purchase goods from Ernakulam by bus. They purchased goods
from three stores in Ernakulam. The main shop is Alpha electronic. If any
compliant for the product from his customers they will directly hand over to
Eranakulam. They will also provide discount sale for his customers. They will also
take order from his customers and buy the product. In time of rain they will directly
affect to the sale and this time automatically the service will increase. There is no
offer sale for his customers at the time of various seasons. The current charge for its
shop is Rs 700. They will also provide home service to his customers in case of only
Dish TV and charging Rs 150 from its customers. There is another small service
centre over there. But there is not at all affect in this shop. His name is Prasanth.
The of that shop is Prabha Electronics. After servicing there is so many scrap items
will arise and they will sold. He was completed his ITI course in KATTAPANA after
his PDC. Before joining in this shop Shibu owned another shop in Elappara, but this
shop was removed as a part of land acquisition.

The investment for this shop is given by Prasad’s family & Shibu’s brother. This
shop was started 2 months ago. This is a rented shop. Here they were concentrated
on servicing all electrical items & sales of few electronic items...
