GLYCOPYRROLATE 1mg Tablet

DOSE: 1 tablet three times a day


MODE OF ACTION: Glycopyrrolate tablets are an anticholinergic. It works by blocking the activity of a certain
substance (acetylcholine) in the body, which decreases stomach acid secretion. Adjunct in treatment of peptic ulcer
disease; inhibit salivation and excessive secretions of the respiratory tract preoperatively; reversal of neuromuscular
blockade; control of upper airway secretions
INDICATION: - to reduce excessive drooling caused by medical conditions (such as cerebral palsy)
- to treat peptic ulcers in combination with other medicines.
CONTRAINDICATION: Narrow-angle glaucoma, acute hemorrhage, tachycardia, hypersensitivity to
glycopyrrolate or any component; ulcerative colitis, obstructive uropathy, paralytic ileus, obstructive
disease of GI tract
SIDE EFFECTS:
ADVERSE EFFECTS: dry skin, dry throat, constipation, xerostomia, dry nose, increased sensitivity to light, dysphagia
DRUG INTERACTION: Solid oral potassium products (eg, tablets) because the risk of stomach or bowel irritation may be increased by
glycopyrrolate tablets

NURSING RESPONSILBILITIES: -Monitor heart rate


- Give medicine before meals
