School – Senior High shows that waking up early in the morning is the main

concern while going home late is the lowest in Grade 11 respondents it is

because the time schedule of Grade 11 students starts at 6:30 a.m. and it ends

at 12:30 in the mid-afternoon. Going home late is the main challenge

encountered by Grade 12 respondents and has the lowest number of

respondents which says that they can’t balance their time management in

order to adjust themselves regarding on the double-shifting session of

Mapandan National High School.

The school system has a severe tool on teaching and learning activities of

pupils which has corresponding effects on their academic performance and

serious measure has to be taken to mitigate or reduce considerably these

ramifications if the government is bent on adopting this measure until new

infrastructure is provided, in order not to put the Senior high students of

Mapandan National High School in the shift operating schools at

disadvantaged position.

Recommendations

In view of the findings of the study, the following recommendations were

offered:

 There is need for support by government to give more resources to school

that offer double-shifting session.

 The government need to continue developing school infrastructure so

that double-shift session can slowly be phased off.

xi
 Considering different policies for Grade 11 and Grade 12. Separating

treatment of Grade 11 versus Grade 12 sections to improves efficiency

and gives them authorities of greater flexibility.

 Consider cost-effectiveness and cost-utility of Double-Shift
