How to make them in English.

Criteria.
1. MAIN VERB

 TO BE: Subject-Verb Inversion:  OTHER VERB: Do+ Subject + Verb…?


A: You are good at sports A: I go to work by bus every day.
Q: Are you good at sports? Q: Do you go to work by bus every day?
2. VERB TENSE

 PRESENT SIMPLE:  CONTINUOUS FORMS: Be + Subject + Verb…?


 As explained in the last slide.
A: I’m going to the cinema with Mary.
 PAST SIMPLE: Q: Who are you going to the cinema with?
A: You were good at sports when you
were a child.
Q: Were you good at sports when you
were a child?

A: I turned off the lights when I left


home.
Q: Did you turn off the lights when you
left home?
2. VERB TENSE
 OTHER TENSES: We already have an auxiliary verb, as in the case of the Continuous
forms, so it comes before the Subject in the questions:
Auxiliary verb + Subject + Main verb + …?
 Present Perfect: Your sister has eaten too much today  Has my sister eaten
too much today?/ How much has my sister eaten today?
 Future Simple: She will return soon  Will she return soon?
 Modal Verb: They can play the guitar  Can they play the guitar?
3. TYPES OF QUESTION
 YES/ NO QUESTIONS: Those seen up to now
 WH- QUESTIONS:
 WH- word + to be + Subject + …?
 How old are you?
 WH- word + Auxiliary verb + Subject + Verb…?
 What do you want for your birthday?
 What were they doing when you got home?
 Where has she fallen?
 How many years had your father been working for that company?
