 Exploration of Oil.
 Role of civil engineers in oil industry.

What I learnt Today:

 The 3 streams of oil and gas industries were explained. After this the ways to explore oil
under the ground was taught.
 The seismic method was taught clearly. A general introduction to Anticline and faults
was given. The seismic survey was taught in depth.
 Then, the derick and its components were explained.
 The off shore oil exploration was taught along with the types rigs, Drillship, Semi
submersible rig, Jackup Rig, Drilling Barge, Land rig were explained. The Christmas tree
and its role was briefly explained.
 Then the role pf civil engineers were explained along with the upstream challenges and
refinery construction.
