Photometer Calibration Procedure Using Glass Kit

Go to “Routines” and then “Read Wells”. Select the 4 wells that are read as a group
(A01, D01, A04, and D04). Then select the 405 filter for the primary, with no
differential. Uncheck the box for reading against the stored blank. Place the empty metal
carrier insert into the instrument.

To check the low end calibration, place the “B” glass in A01. Adjust the trimpot TP1 (on
the COP board) until the “B” glass is within the stated range. It is not necessary to adjust
all 4 positions since there is only one trimpot for this adjustment.

To calibrate the high end, use the “D” glass in each of the 4 wells. Adjust each trimpot if
needed, until all 4 are within the stated range. Place all 4 pieces of glass in the wells and
confirm that the readings are in range.

Note:
The glass calibration kit should only be used for calibration purposes if the calibration
was lost due to the COP board or the photometer being replaced, for example. It is not
intended for confirmation of working instruments, as it is not as precise as the factory
settings.
