Field Maintenance Procedure Check List


1A. Probe X (PRX)
‰ Listen for noise in Probe X Mechanism. Apply lubricant if necessary.
‰ Check grub set screw on motor drive pulley
‰ Probe X time must be within 18 and 23 seconds (23-26 sec pre s/n 1750) XTIM: ______
‰ X references must be within ± 2 of each consecutive run. Perform 3 - 5.

1B. Probe Z (PRZ)
‰ PRXM0300 > PRZM0350 > IOFF Clean and lubricate with 1 drop of lubricant onto drive rod
‰ Probe Z time must be between 11-13 seconds (13-15 sec pre s/n 1750) ZTIM: ______
1C. Plate X (PLX)
‰ PLXM0250 > IOFF Lubricate by adding 1 drop of lubricant onto drive rod.
‰ Plate X time must fall between 17 and 25 seconds PLXT: ______
1D. Plate Y (PLY)
‰ Clean drive rod and lubricate with 1 or 2 drops of oil.
‰ Plate y time should fall within 45 to 60 seconds. PLYT: ______
1E. Wash Head Z (Step 1E not applicable for 2902 models‰ )
‰ PLXM0250 > IOFF > to move the plate XY
‰ WSHM0080 > IOFF Add 1 drop of lubricant to wash head thread
‰ Exercise mechanism by alternately typing WSHM0080 then WSHH
1F. Rack 1, Rack 2
‰ R1TM and R2TM to exercise rack mechanisms. Lubricate with 1 or 2 drops of lubricant if necessary
‰ Rack times must be between 41- 48 seconds. R1TM: ______ R2TM: ______
2. Check Filter Voltages
‰ Utilities > Filter Voltages (perform twice and save)- All must be within 2.0 and 10.0
‰ If filter voltages are lower than 2.00: perform steps 2.A to 2.E ‰ N/A
‰ 2nd Utilities > Filter Voltages (save voltages) All must be between 2.00 and 10.00
3. Filter Wheel Speed Check
‰ FSPD: ______ 0.280- 0.320 Adjust TP2 on COP if necessary
4. Inspect Plate X/Y Overshoot/ Undershoot
4A. How to Determine a Plate Y Undershoot/Overshoot
‰ PLTH > PLYM0750 > IOFF > POSI Record Value ______0750 ± 2
‰ Adjust washer or lubricate if outside of limits. See Instructions 4.C, 4.D, 4.E
4B. How to Determine a Plate X Undershoot/Overshoot
‰ PLTH > PLXM0270 > IOFF > POSI Record Value ______ 0270 ± 2
‰ Lubricate drive rod if undershoot occurs (see 1.C)
5. Check Photometer Alignment
‰ PLTH > RWELA01722 > IOFF and check alignment of plate to channel block
‰ PLTH > RWELH12722 > IOFF and check alignment of plate to channel block
‰ Parameter Confirmation: RWELA01722 , record X and Y positioning values into PARM list if different
6. Check for System Leaks
‰ Make sure fittings, Teflon seals, and tubing pass leakage test
7. Wash System (Step 7 not applicable for 2902 models‰)
7.A. Pressure Check
‰ Instrument pressure must reach 5.0 ±0.2 PSI and maintain with minimal recharges.
PRON: ______ (< 1 recharge per minute)
The aspiration, or vacuum, portion of the system must be able to pass the CASP test
7.B. Wash Head Clean and System Check
‰ Clean Wash Head with cleaning wires and flush with DI H2O. Wipe exterior of tubes with alcohol.
‰ RPRI Prime Wash Head with Rinse fluid and check for correct dispense
‰ WPRI Prime Wash Head with Wash Bottle 1 fluid and check for correct dispense
‰ WPR2 Prime Wash Head with Wash Bottle 2 fluid and check for correct dispense
‰ ASDS0112500 Check for maximum height of fluid dispense for entire plate of wells
‰ ASPS0112D Check for correct aspiration of all fluid from wells
8. Cleaning
‰ 8.A. (Every 6 Months or As Needed) Clean syringes with 10% bleach and rinse with DI H20 ‰ N/A
‰ 8.B. Clean Wash Head, tubing and bottles with 30% bleach and rinse with DI H20 ‰ N/A
‰ 8.C. Check for Air in Syringes and remove alcohol priming if required. Flush with DI H20

9. Performance Verification
9.A. Verification of Setup Parameters
‰ Check all Probe, Wash Head, & Rack alignments
9.B. Channel Blanks
‰ Run Channel Blanks procedure and check values in Communications Window using SBLK command.
All results should be between 0.25 and 0.42
9.C. Self Test
‰ Run Self Test and check all aspects of test pass
