From your educated opinion of the theory of construction management, answer the following
questions:

1.1. Discuss, in one paragraph of no more than 15 lines, what the theory of construction
management is and why it is important and/ or needed (8)
1.2. The first and most obvious requirement in achieving the objective of construction
management is to select competent teams to undertake all the essential construction
actions.
1.2.1. Construction team members include Designers, Managers, Building team,
Manufacturers, Production specialists and Commissioning specialist. Provide two
examples for each of these sub-teams (12)
1.2.2. Study the figure below and indicate the meaning of the two different arrows in the
figure and explain the relationships that exist on a construction project (20)
1.2.3. The three construction teams that are outside the established relationship
boundary, how would they be appointed and in what possible capacity would they
serve on the site? (10)

1.3. Graphically illustrate the basic concept of the theory of construction management (15)
1.4. Discuss the three factors that contribute to complexity in construction projects (15)
