INTRODUCTION:

Attention getter: “Love yourself”, have you ever heard that phrase? That kind of inspirational
messages make us want to change our lives; however, this is easier said than done.

Reveal the Topic: We all go through hard times in our lives, but when you start to think you
deserve them, it can damage your mental health and, with it, your self-esteem.

Establish Credibility: The Psychosocial Working Group define self-esteem as the individual’s sense
of their value, or the attitude towards the self that can be favorable or unfavorable.

Relate topic to audience: Do you accept yourself as you are, or do you judge yourself?

Central idea/Preview: Today I will share with you the reasons why people have low self-esteem,
what can we do to boost our confidence and what is the importance of having a high self-esteem.

Major Points:

Transition: You may be wondering how to tell if you have low or high self-esteem, so now I am
going to list the common causes and signs of low self-esteem.

I. Low self-esteem can be seen as a harmless or fleeting aspect, but it can range from not speaking
in class to having personal relationship problems.
Transition: If you feel identified in any way with what I said, then let us see how we can change
that negative mindset.

II. In order to boost our confidence, we can start by identifying the negative thoughts about
ourselves, or even easier, which are the areas in which we think we should improve.

Transition: Now, that we know how to change our mindset, we must recognize the importance of
high self-esteem, that way we will avoid relapsing into bad thoughts.

III. Having a good relationship with ourselves influences our choices and decisions, therefore it
cause a strong impact in our lives.

CONCLUSION

Transition.OR Summary/ Central Idea: To wrap things up, self-esteem implies a true and deep
understanding of ourselves, so definitely it is not a superficial subject, nor is human nature. But
today we have looked at three main points, why a person has low self-esteem, how to improve
our own perception and why it is important for us to have high self-esteem.

Clincher: I know it is not easy to get out of your comfort zone, but when you try to improve, good
things start to happen, and believe me, you deserve it. Thank you.
