1. “Electronics and Communications Engineering Law of the Philippines’’ was changed to "Electronics
Engineering Law of 2004"
2. In RA 5743, to pass the examination, a candidate must obtain an average of 70% with no rating below
50% in any subject. In RA 9292, to pass the licensure examination, a candidate for Electronics Engineer
must obtain a passing rating of 70% in each subject. However, a candidate who obtains a passing rating
in the majority of the subjects but obtains a rating in the other subject/s below 70% but not lower than
60% shall be allowed to take one removal examination on the subject/s where he/she failed to obtain
the passing rating.
3. In RA 5743, within ninety days after the examination, the Board shall report the result to
Commissioner of Civil Service, who shall act thereon within thirty days from receipt thereof. In RA 9292,
the Board and the Commission shall correct and rate the licensure examination papers and shall release
the examination results within fifteen (15) days after the said examination.
4. In RA 5743, the following shall be punished by a fine of not less than two thousand pesos nor more
than five thousand pesos, or by imprisonment for not less than six months nor more than six years, or

court.
5. In RA 5743 the act shall take effect upon its approval while in RA 9292 s the act shall take effect
fifteen (15) days following its full publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general
circulation.
