Hello, Welcome to Tunja, My name is Sol Valeria Plazas Izquierdo, I’m 26 years old, I
work with Galaxy Tour a travel agency operator, today I am pleased to be with you to
introduce to you “La pila del mono”

PRESENTATION OF THE TURIST COMPANY

I am proud to be Colombian from birth, and sharing our culture and our traditions is
satisfying, I am a public accountant and all start with a trip to an amusement park, noticing
the happiness and gratitude of people traveling with you is priceless, I didn’t really feel that
my whole life was going to be a Tour Guide I took it as a job option as time passes, when I
started sharing with people knowing place and feeling that I was getting prouder and
prouder of the country I was in this leads me to open a travel agency and want to do things
with a lot of discipline and that the agency has name for this we start to certify ourselves
complying with all the rules and one of them leads us that the people who provide the
service for you are Guides professionals, and so begins the journey of being a Professional
Guide

Galaxy was established in the year two thousand eighteen. Our strength are big groups, the
children, the students, senior groups and we offer services to disabled people among others.
Galaxy is an agency focused in the vulnerable population, we think that we all have the
right to know a place. For this reason we work with special programs that different
municipalities administrations. Always we want that our tourist to be well, who take the
best experience they have ever had.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SITE

With this phrase begins a story that many of the adults of old times expressed and used to
ignore the complaints and claims of their children or grandchildren. At the end of that
sentence it was assumed that it was not necessary to insist, it was like having lost the
battle. Of course, no one would look for the pila del mono to complain, because

this is located one block from the Plaza de Bolívar. Its construction is linked to the history
of the water shortage of the capital of Boyacense. La Pila Del Mono or also known as the
Mono de la Pila, is a monument and small square located in the Historic Center of
Tunja. This monument was erected in the main square and for three centuries, it was the
place where the inhabitants of the city supplied themselves with water, from the Germania
and Tras del Alto.

The monkey represents the god of silence. He has the right index finger on his lips, telling
the water-bearers to refrain from talking during the moment of collecting the water.
