The monument to the

revolution
LÓPEZ VELÁZQUEZ DAVID
RODRÍGUEZ GALEOTE LEONARDO
Leo’s trip
 When I was ten, I went to the monument
to the revolution with my mother, my
father, my grandma and my sister.
Because I had to do a school project, so
we spent all the afternoon there but we
didn’t stayed in an hotel or something
like that because it was a visit with
scholar objectives.
David’s trip
 When I was eleven years old, I went to
the Monument to the revolution because
there were a taekwondo event so I had no
other option than go, we only spent the
morning and a little bit of the afternoon
there so, we didn’t stayed at an hotel. My
classmates and I spent from 8:00 to 13:00
practicing taekwondo with another
students from another places.
Where is it?

 This emblematic place of Mexico city is

located on Pl. de la República s/n,
Tabacalera, Cuauhtémoc, 06030
Cuauhtémoc, CDMX.
 This monument is very important
because it commemorates the
Mexican Revolution.
Sightseeing places

 This monument is near to other touristic

destinations like the “Biblioteca
Vasconselos” and the subway
“revolucion”
 Inside of this monument there’s a
subterranean museum where you can
learn about the history of Mexico
 On the rooftop of this monument there’s
a place were you can enjoy the city’s see.
 Also the monument counts with a
fountain where you can watch it or in the
past, people used to play here to get wet
or splash people with the water.
Activities to do

 This place has different activities to do!

But they are different in every month
because there are some events organized
by the government like some bazars, sport
activities or other cultural activities to do.
 By example sometimes there’s a little
market where you can buy some
souvenirs, traditional candies or some
books.
 But if you prefer cultural activities you
can always watch the city from the rooftop
of this monument or even visit the
underground museum of the Mexican
revolution to learn more about the story of
this country
Food

 The food can be variable because there

are some restaurants or Fondas where
you can acquire different traditional
dishes from Mexico
 By example: You can find dishes like
guacamole, tacos de canasta, chilaquiles,
enchiladas and red mole.
 Usually this place has a lot of Fondas or
restaurants around it. The food might be
variable due to the way the owners
elaborate the food (some of them modify
the recipe to give it more of his
personality or well identity)
Weather

 Usually will be different depending of

the season. During April and May the
temperature is very hot, but during winter
the temperatures may become colder than
usual.
 The air quality is bad, this is caused by
the contamination emitted by the cars or
the different industrial activities in
Mexico city.
Transportation

 The transport is one of the most important

parts of this place. If we have to be
honest there’s not a big difference in
transport here.
 Normally you can travel here by bus,
using the subway, cycling, by taxi or even
using the metro bus. So, there’s no way
you can’t find transport here.
Budget

 If you are going to travel alone, we

recommend you have a budget of 1000-
2000 pesos. Normally the food is cheap
you can spend around 200-300 pesos and
the access to the monument’s rooftop
only costs 150 pesos (General public).
The transport is cheap too! You can spend
something like 15-50 pesos in public
transport.
 By the way, if you are travelling with
companions we recommend you port a
budget of 1000-3000 pesos.
