very affectionate with him and his brothers Paul and Janet. He had to take responsibility with his
brothers. He started to study business at City University of New York, then psychology at Columbia
University. He did studies about rational therapy, a most active and dynamic therapy. He also wrote a
book in 1959 titled “How to live with a neurotic” and then founded an institute “Albert Ellis Institute”.

Now, REBT is one of the best therapy than have been used to control anger, anxiety, frustrations, social
phobia, shyness, and sexual dysfunction. The impact of REBT has influenced many other cognitive
behavioral theories like Maxie Clarence Maultsby, Arnold A. Lazarus' multimodal therapy, and Aaron T.
Beck's Cognitive Therapy. REBT is frequently compared and supplemented with cognitive therapy (CT).
His books also are very important because these are self-help to different ages. His contributions are
the most used in New York and some places. In Peru, students, psychologists and other professionals
are studying this therapy for apply it in the Peruvian people.

The A-B-C Model, the Irrational beliefs and the frustration tolerance are some teachings by Albert than
will help a better analysis of the behavior and expression of subsequent generations. The Albert’s
contributions help his institute to do talks about education, sports, couples, anxiety and personality.
