INTRODUCTION: Being free doesn’t mean to say that we can do everything and anything that we
want to do. In this lesson you will learn about the true meaning of
freedom and how we, Christians use it responsibly.

Definition of Technical Terms:


Freedom – being free in doing the right thing
Responsibility – is a Christian calling that is to always do the right thing

STANDARDS: This module aims to enable pupils to:


1. Read and understand the parable entitled “The Parable of Talents”;
2. Identify the meaning of true/authentic freedom according to Jesus;
3. Offer a solution to a situation to clarify how to be truly free and responsible.

TRANSFER: At the end of this module the learners are expected to identify the meaning of freedom and
responsibility and to use their freedom responsibly.

ACTIVITY: Read carefully the parable entitled “The Parable of the Talents” and answer the
questions that follows (Pages 63-65)

INTRODUCTION: Differentiating what is right from what is wrong is an easy task, but what makes
it difficult sometimes is choosing to do the right thing. In choosing the right thing,
conscience is there to help us. It is always there to guide us. So where
does our conscience coming from? “Conscience is the inner voice of
God” It is the voice of God telling us to always choose and do the right
thing. In this lesson you will learn on how we, Christians follow God’s voice.

Conscience – the inner voice of God among us, His People

STANDARDS: This module aims to enable pupils to:


1. Understand and appreciate the importance of conscience;
2. Develop conscience within themselves;
3. Apply Conscience in decision making.

TRANSFER: At the end of this module the learners are expected to understand the importance of
conscience and to develop and apply it to their everyday life.

work?), and answer the questions that follows.

In each item is a scenario in which you are going to write the right thing to do. “How?” by asking
your Conscience.

1. You saw a wallet while you are walking in the street. You picked it up and when you open it you
saw 5 thousand peso bills and an ID of the person whom that wallet belongs. What will you do?

2. Your mother is doing the laundry when suddenly she asked you to help her. At that moment, you
are about to play mobile games. What will you do?

3. You and your family went to Jollibee for your lunch. While eating, you saw a beggar child asking
for food for according to him, he didn’t ate for 2 consecutive days. What will you do?
