2. COVID-19

I won’t go too far for this topic. The Philippines is a mess before COVID-19
happened, but it went straight into a sham when the pandemic happened. It is no secret
to all of its residents that the Government is waiting for a miracle. They seem to focus
on other things instead of formulating policies to effectively governed and protect the
Filipino people at this point in time. The government prioritized putting crushed
dolomites in Manila Bay instead of funding the search for a cure for the virus. It is not
only a issue of timing, but it is also an issue of priorities. It is relying on other countries
when it comes to the cure and sits waiting while wasting money on some other empty
projects.

What happens in the Philippines does not speak for the entire world but it
leaves us hoping that while other countries adapt to spaceship economic despite these
trying times, our country may be able to do as well, especially now. The government
must see that protecting its people must be the first priority since its laws is established
from this mantra “protect and serve the Filipino people.”
