Water Wheel Electricity
Generator with a Spiral pump
PROBLEM STATEMENT:

– The biggest issue that humanity is facing right now is energy crisis and global
warming . Every now and then, the prices of gasoline, diesel, and other energy
sources will always suddenly increase. This energy problem worsens in rural
areas in which there is limited access to electricity. So, considering that all
households needs a continuous supply of electricity and water it is necessary to
develop a device that can help generate electricity and supply water in rural or
remote areas.
As an alternative to the electrical crisis that we are facing today, designing a water
wheel electricity generator would greatly help rural and remote areas to have
unlimited access to electricity and water.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE
STUDY
The proposed project aims to harness renewable energy from rivers
through alternative means and at the same time can supply water using
spiral pump which would be helpful to the communities living in a rural
areas, especially that the power interruptions here in Negros Oriental are
caused by electric shortage. This project doesn’t only help the people but
it also helps the environment because of its economic friendly sourcing.
Furthermore, communities living in a nearby river that had been
disconnected from the main electrical grid due to typhoon and other
natural calamities can use the project as an immediate power source.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To design a Water Wheel Generator that can be served as alternative source
of power and also can function as a water pump.
Specific Objectives:
• To look for possible location where the device will be tested and installed.
• To research for possible design
• To Design a run-off river generator with water pump based on materials readily available.
• To modify the design based on calculations while at the same time making it cost effective.
• To determine the load that the run-off river generator can supply
• To determine the capacity of the spiral pump.
LIMITATION

– It can’t operate in very harsh conditions such as flooded

rivers.
– It will only cover normal river condition.
– The operation of the project will depend on the weather,
for example if its summer time, the river might not have
enough water current to produce energy.
PROPOSED METHODOLOGY

– The design project is intended to have an alternative source of gathering

electricity and water by utilizing the power produce by the flowing water of a
river and a stream.
– A prototype of the water wheel generator will be designed.
– Its performance will be tested on a flowing stream or river.
– Thus, the method in gathering and analyzing the data from testing of the design
is by a quantitative manner.
– In this method, the total volume of water and total amount of electricity
produce and gather is analyze
