Communication

The AnglerfishTM is an optical voice communication system among the users operating underwater.

By the cooperation of Bahçesehir University (BAU) and Savunma Teknoloji Mühendislik A.Ş. (STM), an underwater optical
communication system known as “The AnglerfishTM UWOC (Underwater Optical Communication)” has been designed and
manufactured based on the operational requirements of divers.

Using the supplied full-face diver mask headsets, “The AnglerfishTM UWOC” provides full-duplex voice communication with
eye-safe LED that allows visible underwater communication not only among divers but also submarine and divers.
Communication is secure because it is directed, and modulation frequencies are unknown. “The AnglerfishTM UWOC” is easy
to use by its user-friendly application. “The AnglerfishTM UWOC” has a wide range of usage that enhances diver-to-diver
communication in any underwater operation and diver-to-submarine communication as well. In the configuration where
submarine and diver communication is established, submarine is furnished with a 360 degree optical transceiver located at
periscopes or optical mast at sail fin.
