II. Course Title: Technoprenuership
III. Course Overview:

A. Introduction:
Skill at discovering new ideas, and delivering them, may be one of the
most important practical job skills, in today’s and tomorrow’s job
market. Creativity is an acquired skill, one that improves with practice.
This course aims to empower students who believe they have lost their
innate creativity, because they prefer the three R's: replication,
repetition and rote, to innovation. This course will show how to re-
ignite your rusty creative powers to explore new ideas and deliver
them. Dream big. Be different. Have fun.

B. Course Description:
This course is designed to explore the entrepreneurial mindset and
creativity utilizing technology and engineering background. This
course intends to give an understanding of Technopreneurship
fundamentals. The topics covered include digital product identification,
designing and developing business models, cost management and
adapting digital marketing in the information age. It tries to empower
the individual's innate creativity at the same time fitting the goals of
starting companies of all sizes. It combines engineering thinking and
entrepreneurial behavior leading toward the creation of purpose -
driven technopreneurs.

C. Course Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, the students must
be able to:

1. Construct the overview and starting parameters of a business.


2. Survey the target market of the digital product.
3. Demonstrate the concept of empathizing in analyzing the needs and
problems of the target market.
4. Create a business model canvas for a starting company using BMC
template.
5. Simulate the created Business Model Canvas using the simplified
validation board and attain at least 70% success criteria on the
acceptability rate of the target market.
6. Design a 10-minute pitch video for the advertisement of a selected
small-scale business.
7. Produce a complete market research report given that the student
will utilize digital product identification

In order for you to finish this course successfully, it is important to observe


some important practices and values.
1. Come in class prepared. It is important that when you attend this
course you are prepared physically, mentally and emotionally to be
able to accomplish and focus on the completion of the course.
2. Choose your location. Find a quiet place with an appropriate
background. Make sure nothing is distracting, and your lighting is
bright enough for others to see you.
3. Wear proper Clothing: Appropriate clothing is recommended
(Sandos, sleeveless, topless, shirtless is not allowed). Dress properly
as it improves rapport and motivates you to learn.
4. Mute your microphone (mic): Keep your mic on mute until the
teacher calls on you and it’s your turn to speak. This will reduce
background noise. Also, avoid discussing topics that are not related to
the subject
5. Speak up! Physically raise your hand and unmute your mic when the
teacher calls on you and it’s your turn to speak. Use school
appropriate language as the meeting is recorded.
6. Do not use the Chat feature with your class unless the teacher
states it is okay to do so. When using the chat room, write using
school appropriate language. Remember that the class meeting is
public and a record of the chat is retained.
7. Communication is the key. If you have any concerns, clarification or
inquiry directly communicate with us via FB messenger, Google chat
Email or mobile phone every 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Avoid posting
concerns on any social media sites.
8. Observe Academic Integrity. All submitted classwork and
assignments will be checked carefully, and plagiarism will be
disciplined appropriately. This includes actions such as:
a. Plagiarism. To plagiarize is to use the words, ideas, or original
research of another entity (person or organization, individual or web
source), without proper citation or acknowledgement. b. Submission
of the same paper/work for credit/grading for two or more
courses. c. Submission of an assignment prepared or completed
by another person (or persons).
