Introduction

A. Background of the study

  Oregano is a perennial herb which is well-known herbal medicine for various diseases

Antimicrobial activity of oregano (oreganum vulgare) soap against staphylococcus aureus

B. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Generally, this study aimed to determine the antimicrobial activity of oregano soap against
staphylococcus aureus.

Specifically, this study aimed to:

1. Determine the potential of oregano soap as antimicrobial.


2. What would be the effect of oregano antimicrobial soap in the community?
3. Determine if oregano soap is more effective to staphylococcus aureus.

C. HYPOTHESIS

There is no significant difference on the mean anti-bacterial microbial soap

D. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study aims to enlighten and contribute development and knowledge to our community,
consumers and as well as to our economy to provide and offer clean and healthier lifestyle to
people. Hence, this will benefit the following:
The Consumers. The result of the study will be able to provide a background knowledge that will
help the consumers to look upon what is the reason of why they are having a good or bad quality of
a certain product that they will use.

Suppliers. This study will increase the numbers of suppliers and this will increase their profit and
contribute high rate to our economy.

Future researchers. This study will contribute also to the future researchers to have a background of
the study so that they have proper knowledge about this study.

E. Scope and Delimitation

This study was limited to the determination of the anti-microbial activity of oregano soap
against staphylococcus aureus. It also determined which concentration contains the most active
anti-microbial. This study however tested only the effect of the oregano on staphylococcus and
does not include the other parts of the plant under the laboratory and controlled conditions.
