★ Summary

Usamune ROM is a ROM hack designed to increase the efficiency of speedrunning practice.
Written in C and assembly.

!! AN EXPANSION PAK IS REQUIRED TO RUN THIS ROM !!
We highly recommend using the official one.

ake sure to select the platform you are using in "MODE" under "MISC" category.

■ For EverDrive-64 v1.x / v2.x users
You MUST reset the console before turning it off for the game to save the settings to your SD card.
This is a limitation of the hardware and has nothing to do with the ROM itself.

■ For Project64 users
You MUST set "Memory Size" to "8 MB" in "Rom Settings" for the ROM to work properly.
On the standard versions (v1.91j/u) of the ROM, you MUST also set "CPU core style" to "Interpreter".
If you have a low-end computer, we highly recommend using the Virtual Console version of the ROM
because it works flawlessly with "Recompiler" which is way less CPU-intensive.
Make sure to re-open the ROM after changing the settings.

We do NOT provide user support. Do everything at your own risk.

For Mac / Linux users (.ppf file): <https://bit.ly/2Mtjj3Y>

★ How to apply the patch?

Note that you MUST legally obtain the vanilla ROM.
■ For Windows users
1. Unzip "Usamune_ROM_Patch_v1.91.zip" and open the folder.
2. Open the folder of the version you want to apply the patch to.
3. Put ".z64" or ".n64" format of the vanilla ROM in the folder. (Ex. Super Mario 64 (J) [!].z64)
4. Drag and drop the vanilla ROM onto "Patch.cmd".
5. Usamune ROM will be created in the folder. (SM64_USAMUNE_v1.91.z64)

If you are using Project64, make sure to follow the instructions in "For Project64 users" section.

■ Troubleshooting (Windows)
★ "xxx.z64 is not valid X(" was displayed on console.
CRC of your ROM is invalid. Check if your ROM is correctly dumped.
★ The patcher is not working properly.
Try running the command file and the patcher executable as administrator. If it still doesn’t work,
use the ".ppf" patch file instead. Refer to "For Mac/Linux users" section for patching instructions.

■ For Mac / Linux users
1. Unzip "Usamune_ROM_Patch_v1.91_ppf.zip".
2. Apply the ".ppf" patch to the vanilla ROM using the Web Patcher.

If you are using Project64, make sure to follow the instructions in "For Project64 users" section.
Only ".z64" format ROMs work with this patching method.
If your ROM is either ".n64" or ".v64" format, convert it to ".z64" using the Web Swapper first.

★ Summary

Usamune Singlestar ROM is a ROM hack designed for use in Singlestar speedrunning.
For general purpose, use the standard version of the ROM.
Written in C and assembly.
The modifications are kept to a minimum in order to make the lag amount as close as possible to the
unmodified ROM.

!! AN EXPANSION PAK IS REQUIRED TO RUN THIS ROM !!
We highly recommend using the official one.
