I recently interviewed my aunt through Messenger asking about the various communication tools and processes used during

her
time. Messages during this time were sent in a post office wherein they have to indicate the receiver’s information on the envelope.

Apart from the cost of delivery, my aunt also added how difficult it is to interpret the tone that the sender wants to convey.
Additionally, since it takes time to deliver the letters, feedback is not immediately given. Therefore, there is a possibility that the
Baby Boomer feelings conveyed by the sender wouldn’t be the same when he or she receives a response.

With the rise of technology, my aunt has been thankful since she will be able to communicate with us easily without needing to
spend time and money through traveling. However, she is still having some difficulties navigating the complicated settings and
features found in android phones right now. Above all, she is more than happy to see the growth of technology over time and how
these technologies provide convenience in the process of communication.
During my mom’s time, she and her family were mainly using telephones as a means to communicate with other people. This
mode of communication is convenient in comparison to post offices since there is direct contact between the sender and the
receiver.

The volume, intonation, and feelings that the sender wants to convey are easily determined by the receiver. Immediate feedback is
Generation X also observed when both parties are using this communication tool. Furthermore, she also emphasized that telephones create
stronger relationships and foster clear communication between two people regardless of their distance.

Since cellular phones evolved from telephones, my mother finds it easier to adapt to this new technology. She learned faster than
my aunt and now uses various features of android phones like Facebook and Messenger. As a result, my mother thinks that
communication already reached its peak now that laptops and phones provide an easier way to connect to other people.
Millenial The emergence of cellular phones paved its way during this era, although not as modern as our android phones right now, still it
became more accessible and convenient compared to the previous eras.

My sister stressed out that mobile or cellular phones became more interesting than telephones since it can be brought anywhere and
is handy. Feedback is more immediate and quick rather than telephones since it can immediately receive messages or calls as long
as the sender brings the phone with him or her. But the downside of mobile phones lies in the connectivity or signal of both
receiver and sender. Apart from these problems, mobile phones proved their existence to be worthy especially in this pandemic
wherein social interaction or communication is restricted.

As these technologies continue to evolve, we cannot deny the fact that communication becomes easier and more convenient as
technology progresses. But let us be mindful of how to properly use these devices and never abuse technology as this may bring
negative repercussions on our physical well-being.
