2 Delete face.
Delete the three unwanted faces of the fillets.
3 Trim surface.
Using face curves, converted edges, and sketches, trim the edges of the
opening.
4 Filled surface.
Create a tangent filled surface to patch the opening.

2 Fillet.
Create a 4mm radius fillet on the edge as shown.
Tip The model has been saved with a custom view
orientation called Pocket to orient the model as shown.

Add 2.5mm fillets to the two faces that form the pocket.

4 FeatureXpert.
A message indicates that there was a problem creating the fillet.
Click FeatureXpert.
This tool will attempt to break the fillet into multiple features to create
the geometry.
5 Results.
Three separate fillet features are added to the part to
create the result shown.
To clean up the blend area, we will delete faces, trim the
edges back to create a good boundary, then add a filled
surface.
Since the pocket feature is symmetrical, we will modify
just one side and then mirror.
6 Remove the corners from the model.
Delete the two unwanted faces of the fillets.
8 Knit Surface .
Knit the surfaces together to make selection of the filled surface
boundary easier.

9 Filled Surface.
Click Filled Surface .
Right-click one of the open edges and click
Select Open Loop.
Create the patch Tangent at all edges.
Use Merge result and Create solid to create a solid model.
10 Cut the model.
Click Cut With Surface .
Select the Right Plane as the surface for cut.
Ensure the cut removes the side of the model that has not been
modified.
11 Mirror the body.
Mirror the body using the cut face as the mirror face.
12 Add a counter bored hole for an M6 socket
head cap screw.
Center the hole on the flat face of the boss.
For the End Condition use Through All.
14 Shell .
Use a Thickness of 1.5mm and remove the
bottom face and the two side faces.

15 Move Face .
Move the end face of the hole to shorten the boss
by 38mm.
Use the Offset option to avoid having to specify a
direction.
