 Additional specification for Seismic Refraction Survey
Seismic Refraction Survey either in combination with MASW or any other suitable technique based on site specific scenario for
each dam, shall be conducted in order to detect anomalies within the dam body as well as in the foundation rock mass. During
conducting survey for obtaining L-section profile for each dam, a total of three rows of probes shall be employed along u/s side,
d/s side and at the center line of the dam. This will enable to obtain complete L-section profile of the entire dam body including
foundation rock mass. Wherever, in L-section profile of the dam body major anomalies have been detected, it will be further
verified by taking cross sectional survey at that particular location (u/s to d/s) in order to verify the location as well as extent of
presence of anomalies at that particular section. The above mentioned studies will be undertaken following BIS guidelines.
