I was amazed while watching the video where Negros Oriental State University humbly began in 1907

known as Negros Oriental Provincial School, a simple wood working class with 25 students. Today, it has
tremendously reached more than 22, 000 students with 78 programs and 9 campuses spread out the
province.

It feels so great knowing that NURSO is one of the top-performing school in the Philippines. Through the
great effort, unconditional support and tremendous commitment of everybody , the university made
significant achievements producing highly skilled and globally competitive graduates.

The mission and vision of NURSO give hope to every student in making their dreams into reality. The
institution wants to ensure on delivering quality instruction, conducting relevant responsive research
and extension services. Everyone is taking part in order to realize the vision with the lead of visionary
leaders from the past up to the present administration.

The university core values represents the beliefs, culture and practices that guides us on how to conduct
our responsibilities personally and professionally. During my first year, NURSO gaves us a warm
welcome. People around me knows how to respect differences. The core values that had been taught
by the university was practiced everywhere in the campus.

As a listened again the NURSO hymn, I missed how we used to sing this during ceremonies and
programs. I miss how we are being called "beloved-students" of our president, Dr. Joel P. Limson. I miss
the azure blue and lily white vibes of my school surrounded with great teachers, good friends, friendly
classmates and schoolmates. I miss being in school everyday but this pandemic stopped us on having
face-to-face classes.

As a student of Negros Oriental State University, I am proud and honor to be part of this institution. A
home of pride, hope and future.
