SECTION 3-GROUP 2 2-in-1 Air Purifier and Disinfectant

PROJECT SUMMARY

Background of the Study

As the Philippines deals with a challenging worldwide crisis where there

are numerous changes for Filipinos to adapt to the “new normal,” people only rely

on products available in the market that can protect them from contracting the

virus. Consequently, people need more protection and safety in their domiciles

and workplaces. Air Organix will distribute its product in Quezon City where there

is an existing market for similar products such as air purifiers built at home and

portable/wearable ones. However, Air Organix has distinct features that will make

it different from those that are available in the market. In this time of pandemic

situation, people are in need of comfort, less concerning, and convenient

products, which are another advantage of purchasing the Air Organix product.

According to an article published by Philippine News Agency (2020), the demand

and status of the industry presently for air purifiers in the market are relevantly

increasing as the environment becomes more in need of filtered and clean air.

Although air purifiers have been around the market prior to the pandemic, it has

become increasingly prevalent today, where the society must protect themselves

in the protection of greatly vulnerable ones.

The COVID cases for August 2020, Quezon City has been and is still

struggling to decrease the number of COVID-19 positive cases that have

eventually resulted in crowded and populated establishments such as groceries,

offices, and hospitals. (Anonymous, 2020). As a result, Filipinos are

quite proactive in considering various alternatives when choosing the right kinds

of necessities that will help them get through this pandemic other than the

required medium of precaution such as wearing face masks and face shields,

practicing social distancing, and abiding by other quarantine regulations

implemented by the government. Air Organix will offer a product that will truly aid

them today equipped with innovative features that will make it new to the market

and distinct from its competitors.

Description of the Product

Air Organix’ 2-in-1 air purifier with humidifier disinfectant will have

various scents made from organic-based ingredients that produce fresh and

fragrant smell, such as lemon, tea tree, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, and

other disinfecting essential oils. This product contains not only anti-bacterial but

anti-viral formula as well which can also be used by people with sensitive-allergic

reactions to chemicals brought by common disinfectants. This will bring a

competitive price as it offers affordability, convenience, and satisfaction to

consumers by relying on this in dealing with the pandemic.

The 2-in-1 air purifier with humidifier disinfectant will help households,

establishments, and hospitals to easily remove the virus particles and

contaminants from indoor places, therefore reducing the transmission of

between/among people with COVID-19 inside a particular location. It can also

lessen the work and can save the time of the people assigned to maintaining the

cleanliness and sanitation. Moreover, will also reduce anxiety when the virus

exists inside their comfort place. As the country goes through lockdown and

quarantine, people are no longer allowed to frequently go outside their houses.

Fortunately, by using this product, they will still get quality air and people may be

at ease and complacent to do their regular routines.

Business Name

Air Organix is the name of our business, we have created this name

because we will offer products that can help the air clean and fresh. Organix is

composed of two words organics and mix for the reason that all products that we

will sell are made up of natural organics to lessen the use of synthetic chemicals

that can affect one’s health and mix because we will combine air purifiers and

disinfectant in one thing.

Tagline

Air Organix Company’s chosen tagline “fresh air beyond compare” came

from an idea to have a simple but catchy line that consists of the message that

depicts the image of our brand to consumers. The feeling of being secure is the

emotion that we want people to associate with our brand. It gives affirmation that

our product is incomparable because of the different uses that make it unique,

especially in giving a clean and pure environment, which can diminish the feeling

of fear.

Figure 1

Business Logo

Figure 1 presents the business logo; it is shaped like a big leaf since the

products will be composed of organics. This leaf has three colors, green, dark

blue, and sky blue, which represents the organics, dirty air, and fresh air,

respectively. The concept of three-layered color is that when organics are used

to filter and disinfect the air, it can give us purified and safe surroundings. Lastly,

the scattered pieces that look like confetti represent the happiness of everyone

because we are going back to the normal life we used to have.

decision making as well as responsibility and in solving problems that the

business will encounter along the way.

Investment Cost

The company has estimated a total startup cost of Php 3,000,000.00. All

10% ownership each. Approximately, there will be an additional Php 500,000.00

that is needed to secure the financing for the said amount. The Php 500,000.00

additional financing needed to cover the startup costs, will be used exclusively to

buy additional equipment based on the product and in case fortuitous events will

happen, this will also serve as a contingency.
